Challenger's PARADE OF STARS Spring Event is on Friday, June 4 at 6:30pm in the MPR/Gym. Come and see how talented our students really are as they give a variety of great performances. The event will also feature an ART WALL, featuring Challenger students' artwork. If your student would like to submit an entry for the Art Wall, be sure the artwork is mounted on a mat or construction paper with your student's name and teacher clearly labeled on the back. An Art Wall entry can be a photograph, drawing, painting, etc. Submit your entry in the box labeled “ART WALL” in the school office.

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR is coming to the Challenger Library. This year's theme is “Book Fair Diner”. Get ready to “east” on some great books this summer! The book fair will be open:

Wednesday, June 2, 1-4pm
Thursday, June 3, after school to 6pm
Thursday, June 3, after school to 6pm

This year's contest is “Guess the Number of Gumballs in the Jar “. Look for the jar to be displayed in the atrium display case in the next few weeks. As usual, Classroom Teacher Wish Lists will be available for those wanting to buy end-of-the-year teacher gifts, and we'll also be participating in the “One for Books” literacy fundraiser. To volunteer for this fun and exciting event, please contact Marilou Dacey at mmdacey@comcast.net or Deneall Owens at denren@eskimo.com.

SCHOOL SUPPLY PACK ORDERS for the 2010-2011 school year are now being taken. Click here or go to the FORMS page and click on “School Supply Order Form”. You can also order online securely at http://www.epipacks.com. Enter the School ID CHA193 and follow the directions to complete your order. MATH OLYMPIAD is coming back to Challenger! We are looking for families who are interested in enrolling their 4th and 5th grade students (as of the 2010-2011 school year) in this fun & exciting program. Parents are strongly encouraged to also get involved by volunteering and supporting the program chairperson. If you & your student are interested, please contact the Math Olympiad chairperson, Lakshmi Madhavan at lakshmi.madhavan@hotmail.com. IMPORTANT FUNDRAISING INFORMATION! - Parents who complete their employer's corporate matching gift forms for money donated to Challenger PTA's “Pass the Hat” fundraiser (or any other donation made to the PTA in which no goods or services are received by the donor) must specifically designate “Issaquah Challenger PTA” as the organization to receive the matching funds. Both the school and the PTA may be listed as a qualifying organization with your matching gift agency, and therefore, it is important that you specifically designate the PTA as the recipient of the matching funds. If you have any questions regarding this, please contact Kelly Azzarello, PTA treasurer at info@challengerpta.org.
